Sometimes you meet someone who becomes someone in your life.
That person may live a thousand miles away.
You may have met her/him on facebook, or on vacation.
Or you bumped into one another in Saks 5th avenue.
Or in McDonalds.
Sometimes you just click with that person.
You may have met hundreds, or thousands of people in your life, but it all comes down to those who, for some reason, become a staple in your life.
For those of us who have worked and traveled around the country, we say hello and goodbye on a regular basis.
I will miss you.
It won’t be the same without you.
I will keep in touch.
And guess what?
But for that special person or persons that we encounter who somehow transcends the norm, we do keep in touch.
Oh, it may not be every day.
Or every month.
But when we do connect again, a year later, or a lifetime, later, it is always the same.
We haven’t missed a beat.
We are as comfortable as if we have been in contact every day.
It doesn’t happen often.
Only for a few special people in our lives.
Such is Orla.
Hey, lassie, so very happy you landed in this glorious country, to make my life brighter.
I don’t know when I will see you again, but when I do, it will be a joyous reunion.
Just between you and me, I believe in the Irish blessing:
“May you get to heaven a half hour before the devil knows you’re dead”
And until the next time,
There are those who keep you safe in their hearts
And whatever you need, you can always reach out.
We are only a few hours away
Just say the word and we will be on our way.
Best wishes, Orla
Until we meet again.
