Oh how lovely.
Retire and live the good life.
If you can, congratulations.
But don’t wait for those years to live.
Have you ever said:
I can’t touch my savings, not even to take the family on vacation.
Put money away.
There is no retirement.
Social Security is broke.
Delay enjoyment, to take care of my senior years.
And then, one day, you wake up, and you are old.
You probably could not take a vacation, now, even if you had the money.
My friends, life is for the living.
Do it now.
There is no better time to live, to give and to enjoy, than right now.
You don’t have to be rich.
You don’t have to be independently wealthy.
If you think about the most wonderful times in your life, they probably had nothing to do with money.
They had everything to do with realizing that you are alive, on this planet, another day, with another opportunity to make the most of it.
Share what you have.
And give thanks for the greatest gift of all: Life.
I read this today, and now I cannot forget it:
“This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.”
May you and I live to see another day, regardless of our circumstances.
And do it, with kindness.
